This series takes the chair as a prop to support more upright movement. Exploring traditionally standing poses in a careful, supportive way. Each class has three sections - start after section 1 to begin with, and gradually increase how much of each class you do in each movement session. This series is the most dynamic out of the OnDemand Membership options.

OnDemand Yoga Membership - Monthly

Welcome to the Yoga for POTS & Dysautonomia in Long Covid series!

This course has been designed to cater specifically towards those who have POTS symptoms during Long Covid, but of course it is relevant to all people experiencing POTS and Dysautonomia.

Please begin by watching the Introductory video.  You can then take the classes in any order you wish, including the bonus content, however I recommend leaving Days 4 and 5 until you are ready as they are a little stronger of a workout. 

I have purposefully added the meditation / relaxation exercises separately, so you can enjoy them either at the end of the yoga practice, or anytime at all.

Please always listen carefully to your body and go at your own pace. Absolutely no 'pushing through'! This is a paramount importance if your range of symptoms include Post-Exertional Malaise (PEM) wth chronic fatigue. Ideally, you want to be pacing well enough to significantly limit, then eventually stop experiencing, PEM episodes. That is the key to recovery.

Yoga for POTS & Dysautonomia in Long Covid

Welcome to the Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra Series for Chronic Health Conditions! This is a great series to start with if you are new to Yoga for Long Covid, or are returning to gentle movement and stretching.

Yin Yoga is a slow and reflective practice, where we take time in each yoga pose to really allow stillness and radical rest. We find an appropriate depth that we can hold a position for - always listening carefully to your body's messages - and then seek stillness and pause. Traditionally, Yin Yoga class is without much teacher input, however, this course offers a mix of more directed relaxation, as well as quieter reflection moments. 

Alongside the Yin Yoga, are four tracks of Yoga Nidra, or Yogic Sleep. Yoga Nidra - commonly referred to these days as 'NSDR' or 'non sleep deep rest' allows the body and mind a chance to reach deep radical resting states. We explore different themes in the Yoga Nidra practice, from Loving Kindness to Grounding through Yoga Nidra.

The Minis Series - Brief Yoga classes and Guided Meditations

Chair Yoga is for all bodies and everyone! Whether you are 5 or whether you are 95, whether you are feeling great or are having symptoms flares or low in 'spoons', Chair Yoga can be the right tool for you! Using the chair as a tool, we explore more dynamic movement and use the chair to 'sit' in traditionally standing yoga asanas or postures. There are in fact poses that you can deepen using the chair as a prop, and poses which I prefer with a chair than in the 'traditional' variations. It is empowering and allows your body to move, stretch and gradually strengthen in a way which continues to support your healing.

Each class explores a different area of the body, and also explains the corresponding 'chakra' or energy point in the body. You can choose to focus or revisit any particular region of the body that feels necessary for you, or take each class in turn. I have not provided a set order to allow you to decide where you wish to go with your yoga practice. Additionally, each yoga class has three sections of yoga poses within it, with gradually increasing difficulty. This allows the classes to be as useful to as many people as possible - and you can choose to practice the whole class if you are able to that day, or decide to stop and go to the relaxation after the first or second group of yoga asanas. Choose your own adventure!

Lastly, there are three pranayama or breathing practices, and three meditation exercises in this series, which loosely correspond back to what we are working on with regional poses or 'unblocking' chakras or energy centres. I recommend using these breathing techniques and meditations frequently - and always end your yoga class with a lengthy relaxation period of rest.
